The Nikon 1 V2
I shot this boat house using a Nikon 1 V2, it captured the shadow and the highlights in the water really well. I maintained good range using the active d-lighting and the 18.5mm lens help me to achieve distinct lines across the frame. I love the auto white balance feature, it helps make a smooth transition in color.

Symmetry Photography
Have fun with your photography by looking for symmetry in your shots. While browsing images and sights in your everyday life you may come across some reflective images by mirrors, shade, or even water. Focus on trying to balance the horizon across the center of the frame for the best results.

The Butterfly Effect
I like to take two different approaches when capturing things like insects, butterflies, or birds. Sometimes I might want to isolate the subject from it's surroundings. To do that I usually will use a long lens and a wide aperture. Or sometimes I will do the complete opposite and pull back on my zoom and use a smaller aperture to capture more of my subjects natural habitat surroundings.

More Landscape Photography
When heading out to capture some amazing landscape photography don't forget your filters. Especially your hard, soft, and solid Neutral Density Grads. The hard and soft grads help bring the sky and the land together in one harmony. While the solid ND grads help to capture movement in the waters, the wind blowing the trees, and clouds in the sky.

Tripple Falls Glacier National Park
This photo captures the moody, cloudy mid day light beautifully. The colors are stunning, the lines definitive, and the shapes and textures are spectacular. The low point of view with a wide angle lens does the photo much justice and the slow shutter speed really captures the movement of water.

Wildlife Photography
Capturing awesome wildlife images can sometimes be very exciting. Dawn provides the best light for photographing wildlife and it's also a good time because the animals will be preoccupied with finding food. Remember to pack light and move very quietly as you stalk your subject. Another technique is finding a comfortable spot and play the waiting game.

Wide Angle Lenses
Wide angle lenses help you fit subjects or scenes into the frame. There are three main types of wide angle lenses, the fisheye lens (circular or full framed), the fixed wide angle lens, and the Ultra wide angle lens. Most people go with the Ultra because essentially it is made up of all 3 lenses at a fair price.

Metering Patterns For Perfect Photography
You must understand your camera's metering patterns to get perfect exposures when taking photographs. The metering system decides the best exposure after it determines how much light is in your shot. Multi-zone is the default metering system and if you change that you may want to change your exposure as they work hand in hand.

Close Up Photography
Close up photography is proven to be difficult but don't let that deter you from giving it a go. Your challenge may be establishing a good depth of field to get a focused and sharp shot. That's why your choice of aperture is important. Go with f/16 or f/22 but remember that the higher the f number the slower the shutter speed will be so be sue to hold that camera steady.
